The Home of the Single-Day Turnaround

At Shear Ease, we know that being without your tools is more than just an inconvenience—it’s your livelihood. That’s why we pride ourselves on being the fastest in the business. By investing in a highly skilled team and the best equipment, we make sure your tools are back in your hands as quickly as possible.

You can find our current turnaround times below:

Clipper Blade Sharpening

Monday to Friday: Blades that arrive during the week are sharpened and dispatched the very same day they arrive.

Saturdays & Bank Holidays: Blades that arrive on Saturdays or Bank Holidays are sharpened and dispatched along with the work on the next available working day.

Christmas Holidays: As a general guide, our workshop usually operates through the last full week before Christmas and reopens for the first full week of the New Year. However, we know how busy this time of year is for you! If we see a backlog building up, we often extend our hours to ensure your equipment isn't sitting in a queue longer than necessary.

  • The Christmas Queue: Any work that arrives while we are closed for the holidays forms a queue. We process these orders in the strict order they were received as soon as we return. To clear this as quickly as possible, we increase our staffing levels and working hours during the first week back.
  • Time-Sensitive Work: Because we can’t predict the volume of mail that arrives while we are closed, we cannot provide an exact turnaround time until we are back and processing the backlog. If your work is time-sensitive, we strongly advise sending it to us well outside of the Christmas period.
  • Check the Homepage: Our holiday dates aren't set in stone. Please check our homepage starting in December; any specific dates posted there are the definitive guide for that year.

Clipper Servicing & Repairs

  • Queue & Diagnosis: Clippers are processed in the strict order they arrive. They are typically diagnosed within 5–10 working days of arrival (subject to Saturday and holiday delays as detailed in the sharpening section above).
  • Option A: Use Our Judgment (Fastest): To get you back to work as quickly as possible, we recommend selecting the "use our own judgment" option. This allows our technicians to proceed with the repair immediately after diagnosis. Please rest assured that our team is extremely cautious—we will never repair a clipper if the costs are nearing the point of being unviable.
  • Option B: Request a Quote: We fully understand if you wish to know the cost before we start. However, please be aware that this adds an additional admin loop to the process. Once diagnosed, your paperwork joins our office queue; when it reaches the front, we will calculate the quote and attempt to contact you.
  • A Note on Delays: While we occasionally have to wait for specific parts to arrive, the most common cause for a significant delay is difficulty in connecting with a customer for quote approval. The faster we can reach you and receive your go-ahead, the faster we can get your equipment back on the bench.
