Shipping Your Clippers Safely

Clippers are heavy, precision instruments containing delicate internal motors and circuit boards. To prevent impact damage and ensure your equipment is fully covered by insurance, you must follow these mandatory packaging steps.

1. Mandatory Packaging (No Envelopes!)

Royal Mail guidelines for heavy items must be followed to qualify for an insurance claim. Clippers must be sent in a box.

  • The Sturdy Box Rule: Never use a padded envelope or Jiffy bag. Clippers are easily crushed or cracked in transit if not protected by a rigid cardboard box.
  • Wrap the Unit: Wrap the clipper body in several layers of protective material (such as bubble wrap or cardboard).
  • The Blade Advantage: You are welcome to leave your blades attached to the clipper as this is very useful for our technicians to test the machine "under load." If leaving blades attached, you must wrap the "head" of the clipper in extra heavy cardboard or thick padding to prevent the blades from piercing the box or damaging the internal drive lever.
  • Disable Movement: Fill any empty space in the box with crumpled paper or packing material. The clipper must be immobilised—if it can move freely inside the box, it is It risk of damage.

2. Your Tracked 24 Label

Your service includes a Royal Mail Tracked 24 label. It is faster and more reliable than standard post.

  • Check Your Email: You will receive a link to generate your label after checkout.
  • Paperwork: Please include a copy of your Order Confirmation inside the box.
  • Technician’s Notes: If your clipper has a specific fault (e.g., "it only cuts out when the cable is moved"), please include a handwritten note to help us diagnose the issue quickly.

3. High-Value Insurance Warning

Most professional clippers (Heiniger, Lister, Andis, etc.) are worth significantly more than the standard insurance limit.

  • The £150 Limit: Our provided Tracked 24 label includes insurance for loss or damage up to £150.
  • Our Recommendation: If your clippers are worth more than £150, do not use our label. Take your package to a Post Office and pay for Special Delivery to ensure your equipment is covered for its full replacement value.
  • Liability: Using our Tracked 24 label for high-value clippers is done at your own risk for any value exceeding the £150 limit.
