All blade sets (whether seperate or as a unit) have a cutter and a comb. The cutter is always the smaller blade that oscillates on top of the cutter.
Comb (Horse, Cattle & Pet Grooming Blade Sets/Units)
The Comb is always the larger blade that is fixed (by varying mechanisms).
Tongue Guide (Small Blade Units)
The Tongue Guide fits the hinge tongue on the clipper and helps restrain the blade. The blades tension screws screw into the tongue guide.
Tension Spring (Small Blade Units)
When held between the blade and the tongue guide the tension spring keeps the cutter and comb under tension.
Tension Spring Rail (Small Blade Units)
The Tension Spring Rail fits between the tension spring and cutter, ensuring even tension and minimal friction.
Tension Bolt & Spring (Aesculap blades)
The tension bolt and spring on an aesculap blade hold the cutter and comb under tension. This design means the tension is adjustable without taking the blade apart. (IMAGE COMING SOON!)
Tension Set Spring, Nut & Bolt (Large Blades)
Tension sets work together to hold the cutter and comb under tension.
